The Weekly Fly

From Charles:

I have been tying stuff onto hooks for a long time. It began with poppers and jig heads, which served the fishing I was taught to do by my father. By the age of twelve I was approaching burn out from fishing the warm water mud pit impoundments of central Arkansas. Dear ol` Dad saved me, though, when he took me on a float trip on the White River in northern Arkansas. It has taken all the years since to get enough fur and feather into my bloodstream to achieve the level of addiction I now have for fly fishing, and tying. I justify my habit by tying at conclaves and other events, from coast to coast. I am proud to be a Proteam member for Whiting Farms and on the Pro Staff for Daiichi. It is always good to use the best. I own and operate Tanfly, LLC from my home in Little Rock.
Have fun and tie one on for me!

Also: It catches everything and anything, salt and fresh. Used a lot for smallmouth bass and large trout.

Josh Stanish is a tyer from Bozeman, MT. Find out more about Josh by going to Biggie's Bugs

Josh grew up in the mountains of Colorado and watched a world class resort grow from the ground up. His passion for fishing got started at a young age when his father would take him camping in the flat top wilderness. When he was about 10 he found an old spin/flyfish combo rod and headed to the river. He has been completely consumed with the sport ever since. Upon graduating High School he headed north to the great state of Montana. He attended college between his days on the Madison, Yellowstone and Gallatin Rivers.

"I fell in love with fly fishing as a young boy when I found on old Eagle Claw Spin/Flyfish combo rod in my neighbors garage. Armed with the rod, reel filled with only backing and a prince nymph I jumped on my bike and made the 5 mile trek down the gravel road to the Eagle River. I caught and landed two brown trout and have been a fly fishing addict since the first fish ate my fly."

You can also contact Josh for custom fly orders.
"Biggie’s Bugs Custom Flies is a small side business that I operate during the winter months as a way to make a few extra dollars to supplement my busy summer of guide income. For years I have tied flies commercially for local shops and my guide clients. This is not a full time year round job for me, but I really enjoy fly tying and hope to pass along my skills to others through this site. My goal is to offer flies that I have personally developed over the years, custom tie any concotion that someone is looking for and offer standard issue patterns as well. "
