Bob Jacklin's Giant Salmon Fly Nymph - 11:17

Bob Jacklin (www.jacklinsflyshop.com) has been a fly fishing guide and outfitter in the Yellowstone region for over 37 years. He is a world class fly fisherman, fly tyer, and fly casting instructor. Bob holds a Masters Certification as a fly casting instructor, and sits on the FFF’s Board of Governors for fly casting instruction. He has been tying flies commercially since 1963 and is a past recipient of the FFF’s Buz Buszek award for his contributions to the art of fly tying. There are few people in the country with as much in-depth knowledge of fly fishing, fly casting, and fly tying as Bob Jacklin. He is a charter member of the Federation of Fly Fishers, on the pro staff for St. Croix Rods, Ross Reels, Cortland Lines, and Whiting Farms. He is also a contract fly tyer for Umpqua Feather Merchants. On October 23, 2004, at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, Bob Jacklin was inducted into the very prestigious “Fly Fishing Hall of Fame”

Bob is a frequent participant at fly tying shows as well as putting on talks and demonstrations for smaller groups.

Recipe

  • Hook: Dai-Riki #270 or Tiemco #200R, sizes 2,4,6
  • Thread: Black, 3/0 or 140 Denier Nylon
  • Tail: Two Black Goose Biots
  • Body: Bicycle Tire Inner Tube, Cut to shape and wrapped over #2 lead wire
  • Thorax: Tan Australian Opossum Dubbing
  • Wing Cases: Bicycle Inner Tube, cut to shape
  • Legs: Natural Black Saddle Hackle
  • Head: Tan Australian Opossum under Black Bicycle Inner Tube
  • Antennae: Optional, Two Dyed Black Pheasant Tail Fibers

Kivory, we've decided to use a higher quality resolution based on user feedback so the files are quite large. It may be that the download speed of you connection cannot keep up with the play speed. Try pausing the video and waiting a few minutes. Alternatively, the new flash codecs depend on a lot of processor speed/ memory to decode the compressed files. If you've allowed the video to completely download to memory and you are still getting a stuttering effect, try closing some other applications.

We are sorry for any inconvenience but we've decided that providing a video quality above and beyond that of youtube and several other video outlets allows us to offer something special.
