- Hook: Standard 1/0 or 2/0 saltwater hook (example- Mustad 34007)
- Thread: Chartruese 3/0 flat wax nylon
- Body: Ice or Krystal Flash chenille, gold or light olive
- Top Wing: Super Hair or Crinkle Hair, blue
- Interior Lateral Line: Krystal Flash chenille - gold or pearl
- Exterior Lateral Line: Super Hair or Crinkle Hair, sea-foam green or olive
- Belly Wing: Super Hair or Crinkle Hair, light blue.

- Hook: Alec Jackson style 1/0 salmon hook (example- TMC 7999)
- Thread: UTC 140, Burnt Orange
- Claws: Ringneck pheasant neck feathers (those coming off the neck saddles directly posterior of white ringneck feathers)
- Appendages: Four strands of copper Flashabou, plus two strands of peacock herl, plus two strands of olive Silli-Legs
- Eyes: Dumbbell eyes, white or red
- Body: Dyed pearl diamond braid, bonefish tan
- Swimmerets: Saddles hackle, brown or honey
- Backstrap: Rabbit fur strips - orange, burnt orange, or barred orange
- Tail: Golden pheasant neck feathers

- Shellback: Two strips of black and white, two-tone, 2mm foam
- Body: Black Ice chenille

- Thread: Yellow, orange, green, or red 3/0 flat wax.
- Tail and Body: Mule deer hair from the neck and facial area.
- Hackle: Fine grizzly hackle. I typically will use silver or gold label hackle from Whiting Farms.

- Thread: 3/0 in gray, yellow, green, brown, cream, or orange.
- Tail: golden pheasant neck feathers or Amherst pheasant neck feathers.
- Body: 1 mm two or single color foam. Dubbing can be used as an alternative. A variety of color can be used.
- Hackle: brown or red.
- Wing: Siberian brown bear hair or grizzly bear hair.
- Head: 2 mm foam – brown, tan, or gray.
- Mandible: Ostrich plumes or peacock herl.
- Legs: brown rubber, Flexi-floss, Silli Legs, or Spanflex.
- Indicator: 2 mm foam.
