Tim Tollet's Abaco Bunny - 14:25
Salt Water Flies, By Fly Type, By Fly Tyer, Tarpon, Permit, Bonefish, Tim Tollett Send feedback »From Tim:
My dad, Harold Tollett, got me started fly fishing in 1962. I started working for Walton Powell, of Powell Rod fame, in 1968 tying flies, and also helped build fiberglass rods and rod components. In 1977, I moved to Dillon Montana, and began working for Al Troth guiding on the Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers. In 1980 my wife, Teresa, and I opened Frontier Anglers.
Over theyears I have been fortunate to travel and fish some of the world's finest fly fishing waters. From Alaska, Belize, New Zealand, Chile, Bahamas, Argentina, and Canada, to most all of the western states. I have had the true pleasure of guiding some of our world leaders such as President Carter, as well as other famous people. This particular fly is a time tested, proven pattern for moving large bonefish, as well as permit. It works extremely well in the Bahamas, but we have used the Abaco Bunny in Mexico, Florida and Belize with excellent results. Tarpon like the larger sizes. It's a fly that is easy to tie and easy to cast.

Dave was born and raised in Great Falls and has spent his life fishing the waters of southwest Montana. He began his guiding career in 1985 on the Henry’s Fork, the South Fork of the Snake and the Teton in Idaho. In 1995, he moved closer to home when he guided on the famous Montana rivers around Yellowstone Park. In 2001 Dave returned to his home waters of the Missouri, which had been the river that captured his imagination since he first fished it as a youngster in 1971.
Up until the late 80’s, the Missouri River had yet to be discovered by the fishing magazines and the few outfitters that guided there held it as closely guarded secret. Dave has studied and fished it intently his entire angling life. Since this homecoming, he has been guiding on the Missouri in the summer and on the rivers of southern Chile and Argentina in the winter. Dave is also a nationally recognized fly-tier and his patterns are produced and sold by Idylwilde Flies.

Delektable™ Boneyard - 13:44
Salt Water Flies, By Fly Type, By Fly Tyer, Permit, Bonefish, Dan Delekta Send feedback »This video is available as an HD DOWNLOAD from our store!
Dan Delekta started Fly fishing when he was ten years old, encouraged by his dad, who owned sporting goods stores in upstate New York. Dan grew up fishing in the Adirondack Mountains. His passion for trout and steelhead fly fishing eventually led him far from New York, to Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. He moved to West Yellowstone at age 22.
Dan began tying flies when he was ten years old. He has designed over 200 patterns of flies that are the trademark Delektable™ collection utilizing both traditional and new age materials. His fly patterns are now tied by Riverborn Fly Company in Boise Idaho and supplied nationally. His passion for fly tying is as strong now as it has ever been. He is constantly thinking about, designing, tying, and field testing his new designs in the great Madison River just outside his door and other rivers he guides including the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Ruby, Missouri, Stillwater, Yellowstone, and Big Horn Rivers. Dan loves to make stuff and started building rods in 1975. He now constructs custom graphite, fiberglass, and bamboo rods at the shop. He started Beartooth Flyfishing in 1982, constructing Made in Montana braided leaders, hand-tied leaders, and fly rods.
Dan has access to an apartment, car, and flats boat on Andros Island in the Bahamas. He spends a good amount of winter time fishing the salt for Bonefish and many other saltwater species. He has an opportunity to design and test his saltwater patterns while on Andros Island.
Dan has guided in Montana’s trophy rivers for over 25 years. He built the Beartooth Flyfishing lodge in 1989, with the help of friends. He greatly values the friendships he has built over the years. His love of the mountains, the solitude, and the peace is exceeded by his appreciation of all the people who have treated him like family. Dan loves fly fishing and all the challenges and rewards it brings. He looks forward to continuing to innovate, to being in touch with nature, and to continuing to bring the joys of fly fishing and deeper knowledge of fly fishing to even more people.
